I have been putting this part off for a little bit, partially because I couldn’t decide the best way how to execute. With time running short the decision was made. I bought some webbing (maybe you have seen them as bag straps) so I could add handles to the sides of my bag for easy lifting. I has to cover the webbing with the same fabric and then sew. Then I cut holes into the existing bag in order to sew the handles into place. Once that was done I could finally insert the lining for the bag and hem the top. Many steps for a simple addition. It was a little difficult since the wood board was already attached and was in my lap as I sewed everything together. Overall, I am happy with how it turned out, just hoping its built tough enough for the wear and tear of the city.
